Gustavo Guimarães

Secretary Ministry of Economy

Economist with a specialization in statistics and a master's degree in economics. She also did her doctorate in economics at the University of Brasília.

– UnB with a doctoral internship at Columbia University (NYC, 2011-2012). He is Secretary for Evaluation, Planning, Energy and Lottery and a former Deputy Special Secretary for Finance, both at the Ministry of Economy. Permanent professor at the Brazilian Institute of Education,

Development and Research (IDP), he was a professor and researcher at the Catholic Universities of Brasília (UCB) and Federal de Goiás (UFG). Former employee of Banco do Brasil with experience in the Risk, Controllership and Strategy and Organization departments.

First place in the Central Bank competition, he was an advisor to three Directors of International Affairs and Corporate Risk Management and to a Director of Regulation. In the federal executive, he was advisor to three Ministers of Finance, Director at the Ministry of Economy and member of Gecex-Camex. He also has experience as a tax advisor to companies in the financial sector and on an audit committee. He has published articles in international journals such as Journal of Development Economics (JDE), Economic Modeling, Economic Systems, among others, as well as national scientific journals.

Among the awards already received are the Febraban Economy Award, the award for the best Selecta ANPEC article and the National Treasury Award (advisor)
